All your questions, answered.
The most common questions about working with us and about each type of coverage. If yours isn't here, write or call us — guidance is always free.
General
Does it cost anything to work with you?
No. Carriers pay our commission, and it's already built into the plan price — you pay the same premium either way.
What states do you serve?
Our office is in Aurora, Colorado and we're licensed in nearly every U.S. state. Everything can be done by phone, video or WhatsApp.
What happens after I enroll?
You call us, not a 1-800 line. Claim issues, network changes, income updates — we handle it year-round at no extra cost.
Do you help in Spanish?
Yes, every step of the way.
How can I get a quote?
Complete our free quote form and one of our advisors will contact you.
What types of insurance do you offer?
We offer health, life, dental, vision and supplemental coverage for individuals and families.
How do I know which plan is right for me?
We review your needs, budget and goals to help you explore suitable coverage options.
Health / ACA Marketplace
When can I enroll?
Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027 in most states. Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1.
What if I miss the deadline?
You can still enroll with a qualifying life event — losing job coverage, moving, marriage, a baby — which opens a 60-day window.
I'm self-employed. How do I estimate my income?
You estimate next year's expected household income, not last year's. For 1099 income that's generally net after business expenses. We'll work through it with you.
Can I keep my doctor?
It depends on the plan's network, and networks change every year. We check your doctors and prescriptions before you enroll.
COBRA or a Marketplace plan?
Often the Marketplace plan is cheaper, since COBRA means paying the full premium your employer used to cover. We'll run both numbers free.
How much does an ACA Marketplace plan cost?
The cost depends on your income, household size, age and the state you live in. Many families qualify for premium tax credits that lower the monthly cost; we estimate your subsidy at no cost before you decide.
Life insurance
How much life insurance do I need?
A common starting point is 10 to 12 times your income, but the real answer depends on your mortgage, your children's ages and any debt that wouldn't disappear.
Term or permanent?
Term covers a set number of years and costs far less. Permanent lasts your whole life and builds cash value, at a much higher premium.
Do I need a medical exam?
Not always. Many carriers offer no-exam policies where you answer health questions instead — faster approval, slightly higher premium.
Can I qualify with a health condition?
Usually yes. Carriers rate the same condition very differently, which is exactly why working with an independent broker helps.
What is final expense insurance?
A small whole life policy, typically $5,000 to $25,000, for funeral costs and final bills. Easier acceptance, often no exam.
Dental & vision
Doesn't my health plan cover this?
Adult dental and vision generally aren't included in a medical plan. Children's dental and vision are covered as essential health benefits.
What does dental cover?
Cleanings and exams, X-rays, fillings, restorative work, root canals and specialist care.
Is there a waiting period?
On some plans yes; others have none for basic care. We'll show you which is which.
What does vision cover?
Eye exams, glasses, frames and contacts, usually with laser surgery discounts.
Supplemental insurance
What is it?
It pays you cash directly when something specific happens — an accident, a hospital stay, a critical illness diagnosis. The money is yours to use for anything.
Why would I need it with health insurance?
Your medical plan pays the hospital, not you. With a high deductible, a serious illness can leave you owing thousands while you're also missing work.
What types are there?
Accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness and cancer plans.
Worth it if I'm self-employed?
Often more than for anyone else — there's no employer sick leave behind you, so it covers both the medical gap and the income gap.
Small business
Can I cover my employees?
Yes. We compare small group options and help you decide between a group plan and contributing toward individual coverage.
How many employees do I need?
Group plans generally start at one eligible employee besides the owner, though rules vary by carrier.
